Spring Photography Contest Winner

“Photography, for me, is about immortalizing moments that will be cherished for generations,” Pujan Prajapati said.

La Roche’s International Admissions office and the Redhawk Post have announced the winner of the Spring photo contest.

Pujan Prajapati won the contest on April 29 and answered some questions for the Redhawk Post about their talent.

Q. Tell us a little bit about yourself.

A. “My name is Pujan Prajapati. I am 18 years old. My hobbies are art and photography. I am from Kenya. I am a student majoring in Computer Science.

“I got into photography when I was about six years old. I was so interested in cameras and photos. I am currently a wildlife photographer, and I also work in other niches of photography. I started wildlife photography at the age of 14. with the first photos taken in 2019.

“I am proud of my work in that I can show future generations of almost extinct animals. Some of the photos I take, I submit to competitions that support wildlife conservation. That helps to conserve the parks and to protect the animals from poaching. Articles like this help spread awareness of wildlife conservation.”

Q. When and why did you take the winning photo?

A. “I captured the winning photo on the morning of April 24th, right after my class. The picturesque scene of pink blossoms, the motherhouse, and the sky struck me as the perfect composition.

“Everything seemed to align perfectly – the day, the time, and the subject. It was one of those moments where nature’s beauty demanded to be captured, and I couldn’t resist.”

Q. What do you like about photography?

A. “Photography, for me, is about immortalizing moments that will be cherished for generations. As a wildlife photographer, I find fulfillment in preserving the wonders of nature for future enjoyment and education.”

Q. What got you interested in photography?

A. “My passion for photography ignited when I held a camera for the first time at the tender age of six. Since then, I’ve been captivated by the art of capturing moments and telling stories through images. My journey into wildlife photography began at the age of 14, driven by a deep-seated desire to document and protect endangered species.”

Q. Where did you learn to take photos like this?

A. “I am primarily self-taught, honing my skills through experimentation and practice. Each click of the shutter has been a step towards mastering the craft and developing my unique style.”

Q. Can you explain these photos?

A. “Photo one is my first image to win an award/prize, which was featured by Oppo.

“Photo two is my first and favorite mother-daughter leopard pair.

“The third photo is a moment that seemed like it was from Lion King, although this is a composite

“The final photo is one where the the colors came out best.”
