The weather is not chilly, but also not warm.  

Leaves turn brown, yet some retain their bright colors.  

The last leaves of oak trees whirl in the wind, leaving behind barren branches. 

Gray clouds block the skyline, but the sun peeks out occasionally.  

Birds chirp in the trees, but some fly away, sensing the approaching cold. 

Students wear t-shirts and shorts, but others wear hoodies and jeans. 

Some are finally getting over midterms, yet others dread the final exam looming in the distance. 

For on November 9^th, 2023, the world is in transition.  

Autumn is ending, and winter is starting.
