Food Pantry
By Adelle Sealand
Beginning its fifth year in operation, La Roche’s food pantry is off to a great start. This resource can be located in Bold Hall 2 near the residence office, and is offered to all students.
The Providence Food Pantry was started in 2018 by Sister Janet Folkl after a survey was taken amongst students about food insecurity. Ending its first year with 114 visits, the pantry continues to expand yearly, with 522 visits at the end of the 2022-2023 school year. Many of the items were provided by groups and people wanting to help the campus’s community. La Roche’s institutional advancement office has also applied for grants in order to fund the pantry in the past.
Along with food, non-perishable food and toiletries have also been provided year after year. The pantry can be a great resource for students that need it. If you find yourself in need of food or conveniences, stop in to the Providence Food Pantry on Wednesdays from 2-4:30, or email Sr. Janet to arrange an appointment.

Great Work!
