In early Oct., the library staff re-opened the Providence World Café for the first time since the pandemic began.

The Providence World Café used to be run by Sister Michelle Rose Siber. She would have free coffee and cookies for the students in the morning.

It was set up to give students a chance for free breakfast and someone to talk to if needed.

However, once the pandemic began the café had to shut down.

At the beginning of the fall 2021 semester, the library staff decided it was time to re-open. After a couple weeks of planning and working everything out with Sage Dining, they were able to re-open.

The library is using the re-opened café as a fundraiser.

Everything for sale is budget-friendly and easily available.

They are operating on a cash-only basis. For 50 cents each, they’re selling coffee, with cream and sugar supplied; tea; hot chocolate; chips, including Doritos, Lays, and more; and packs of cookies, like Oreos and Chips Ahoy.

There is also candy, including Reese’s, Hershey bars, KitKat bars, and more for 25 cents.
